We all have a favourite time to have sex.. the most popular likely being ‘anytime’ or ‘always’. But, if you need to narrow it down – because I like sex to be drawn out and part of a fun energized evening – my favourite sex times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Similarly, I’m less of a fan of daytime sex because it tends to be quicker … although morning sex following a long night of prolonged sex can be pretty awesome.
But Sunday? While I probably fall into the camp of enjoying sex anytime, Sunday would not be one of my preferred days. So, I was a little surprised to find – in a sexual satisfaction survey done by OurLovely that Sundays are, indeed, the most popular time to have sex.
For me, Sunday is more of a day to recover from the more active days of the weekend, which we try to pretend begin on Thursday evening. Sunday is when we get some chores done, prepare some meals for the week. Sometimes in the evening we will have glass of wine and we will often end up having a little romp… but to be honest its as likely to end with watching a TV show and going to bed.
So, why are others so different. Of all the days of the week, why is Sunday the most common day to have sex. Maybe the answer lies in the broader reason people simply are not having much sex overall. They are simply too busy most of the week to prioritize it article after article cites one of the main reasons couples are having little to no sex is that they are simply too busy, too over scheduled and lack time.
Perhaps the reason I don’s love Sundays sex is exactly the reasons people have so much sex on Sundays… it is s relaxing, recovery day. So for many, its a time when they finally have time for sex.
I may appear to be coming down on Sunday sex. I’m not. It just surprised me.. that’s all.
