More good news from science… more sex equals fewer winter colds.
A survey of 111 college students found that those who had more frequent sex were less likely to catch colds. The reason – and this is interesting – people who had more sex were found to have higher levels of immunogobulin in their saliva. This substance is the bodies first defence against the colds and, apparently, the more you have sex the more of it you have.
Study authors were unclear as to why sex ramped up people’s immune system like this, but the speculation is that the relaxed state associated with frequent sex promotes your body to produce more of the immune-enhancing chemicals.
Whatever the reason, the snow starts to fall and you are getting surrounded by runny noses at the office, make sure you’re funding time for sex. For a healthy and happy winter.
