Just finished Total Synergistic, the total body/core workout that is day one of the first phase of X3. I stand by what said last week about this workout – it is a great workout but could be a little bit tougher, but I will add a small caveat. This week I felt stronger – having done all 6 workouts last week – so there were many moves I was able to do better. This actually made the workout a little tougher because I was engaging my core properly as I did it and, therefore, got a better workout from it.
I also did measurements today. I am not going to share them, but, in a nutshell, I am in pretty good shape and my weight and fitness has stayed pretty much the same over the past 20 years – since high school. I work pretty hard to stay in shape and, while i am no fitness model, I have been pretty happy with my fitness level and work to maintain it so that I am functional in the sports I like (mountain biking, adventure racing….) Since getting into rock climbing, however, I have developed a desire to (i) get little stronger and (ii) weigh less. Carrying an extra 10 pounds makes the horizontal moves really a lot tougher, so I am going to try to shrink my waist a little and lose about 10-15 pounds. I will keep you up to date on progress.
