I hadn’t done The Challenge since back in Block 1. The Challenge is a very straight forward but tough workout that is 16 moves, alternating between a pull-up and a push-up move. The goal: chose a number of pull-ups and push-ups you will do each set and stick to that number through the full 16 sets. My numbers, back in phase 1 were 8 (pull-ups) and 18 (push-ups). This time I upped to 10 pull-ups and 20 push-ups.
First the good news. I was able to hit my numbers through the whole workout, only needing to use the pull-up assist in the last two pull-up rounds. This felt great and made me realize that I am going in the right direction on my goal of getting stronger this year. The bad news: rock climbing the next day was not pretty.
