I am halfway through the last week of block 3 on P90X3. This morning I looked ahead to some of the block 3 workouts – complex upper and decorator. I am very concerned.
I have been reality pleased with my progress in P90X3 to date. I am feeling much more fit and stronger and I am doing more pushups and pull-ups than I could do when I started. But when I look ahead to block 3 it becomes clear that I have not progressed enough. Some of the moves in block 3 seem ridiculously hard — slo-mo pull ups where you do a set of 12 pull-ups in slow motion (I can barely do 12 at regular speed); set of ploy pushups with 45 degree rotation while in the air; a crazy push up that seems to end with a levitated yoga move. These look crazy.
As I have said before, I am loving X3 and liking the results, so no complaints, but the next phase worries me. It really makes me wonder if someone my age (I am just over 40) can really progress quickly enough in a 90 day program to get to this level of moves. I was pretty fit to start with, I did every workout…I am just wondering if these moves are a little out of my reach. We will see when I start Block 3 and I won’t be overly disappointed if I fall short on some of the moves as long as I see results…. a little disappointed, but not overly disappointed.
