After just finishing week 5, I will do a very brief report. It is working. When I started the X3 program, one of my main objectives was to gain overall strength and fitness. IT IS WORKING. I went rock climbing last night and was able to (i) do a bouldering problem that I have been working on for months and had never successfully ascended and (ii) climb a 5.9 top to bottom on my first try – Flashed It, as the kids say. These may not be professional-level climbing results, but they are personal bests for me and I have gotten to them doing less climbing (and more X3ing) than last year, when I was climbing 4 times per week.
I am still not seeing radical weight loss of inches lost (and I was looking for a bit there, but knew it would be a challenge), but both of these measures are at least going in the right direction.
