My wife shared a list with me last from the site AskMen ranking the top sexual fetishes. At the top of the list – apparently way above the others – was foot fetishes. The worship of feet.
I had no idea. While I find there is nothing awful or off-putting in this fetish, I don’t fully get it. I’m not sure what it is about the foot that turns people on. Apparently some love it. I was reminded in a article in the New York Times this morning of an incident at a past Democratic National Convention:
“….news broke during the 1996 convention that Dick Morris — the guru who was responsible for Bill Clinton’s convention theme of family values — had “sucked on the toes of a $200-an-hour prostitute and allowed her to listen in on his conversations with President Clinton.”
I will admit that the foot is an elegant and sleek appendage. Even beautiful. More-so than the penis I would say. So that may explain the fixation. But its lack of ability to get physically aroused in response to touch us a big drawback.
Personally, I’ve never met someone who is really into feet. Or at least, they didn’t share that they were. I’ve met plenty of people who readily discuss their interests in BDSM, role play, and many other kinks. But feet never seem to come up.
In any case, as I said, there is certainly nothing objectionable about foot fetishes. It just surprises me a bit.
