We’re spending a few days in NYC with friends soon. Four of us are going. And we all want to experience everything NYC has to offer – the culture, the sexuality, the energy, the music… everything.
The challenge – how to fit all we want to do in three days?
Here is our strategy, as far as we’ve envisioned it:
- Pick one neighbourhood to explore each day. We’re thinking Chelsea, SOHO and maybe the Highline trail. For a few hours each day we’ll wander around to the galleries, shops and bars. We’ll stop for lunch, people watch a bit. Our emphasis will be to feel we’ve gotten to know each of the little areas a tiny bit, and not to try and cover too much ground
- Something special each evening. We have tickets to an album release party on our first night for a singer we really like. And the have tickets to a performance at Mercury Lounge the next night – not someone we know, but the Mercury Lounge is a classic spot for music we wanted to check out.
- Find the sexy underside of NYC. We’ve registered for a lifestyle sex club one evening. We researched as best we could and think we’ve found a good one. We had considered a private party, but the one we were looking at seemed to have about a 5,000$ membership fee.. seemed a little steep. Yikes
- Really, really enjoy one another’s company. We’re very close friends so we want to make sure we have enough down time to juts soak it all in and enjoy each other and our time there. We want to make sure we have lots to do, but not that we are rushing from one thing to the next. I’ve placed some good lounges and coffee shops on a google map to have places for simply hanging out
We’re really psyched. As parents, we rarely get adult-only travel time. So we want to totally knock it out of the park.
